Description
Gazebo is a long-standing Indian restaurant in Al Qasimia, the kind of place Sharjah families have been returning to for anniversaries, Eid lunches and weekend gatherings for well over a decade. Its signature is the interior itself: wooden gazebos set over each table, curtained private cabins and low, cushioned seating that lend the dining room a quietly theatrical feel, distinct from the standard North Indian restaurant template.
The kitchen is anchored in Mughlai and dum-style cooking, and the biryani is the dish most orders revolve around - chicken, mutton and Kashmiri versions, slow-cooked in the pot and served with the seal intact. Chicken malai tikka, murgh chatpata and Afghani kebabs lead the tandoor section, while dal makhani, butter chicken and baked lamb in bread crust are the dependable picks from the curry side. Vegetarians are well looked after, with stuffed mushrooms, paneer tikka and a strong vegetable biryani, and phirni and shahi tukda close the meal on a traditional note. Taftan and naan come from the tandoor; fresh mango juice is the drink to ask for in season.
Pricing sits at the upper end for Sharjah, and that is the most consistent caveat - portions can feel modest against the bill, and diners accustomed to its sister restaurant Kamat next door often notice the gap. Service is generally warm, though on busy evenings it can run slow or inattentive, and parking around King Faisal Street tightens on weekends. Booked ahead, with a private cabin for a group of six or more, Gazebo still delivers a classic, occasion-worthy Indian meal in one of Sharjah's more atmospheric dining rooms.
