Shababeek is the most polished Lebanese table on the Al Qasba canal, a long-running Sharjah favourite that trades on serious Levantine cooking and one of the prettiest outdoor terraces in the emirate. The restaurant spans two environments: a traditionally decorated indoor room that feels calm even when the promenade outside is busy, and a waterside deck shaded by date palms that is at its best from October through March, often with live Arabic music in the background.
The menu reads like a considered tour of the Levant rather than a long chain-restaurant card. The trio of hummus, one of them finished with truffle oil, is a reliable opener, alongside muhammara, moutabal, and the house fatteh hummus with pine nuts and yoghurt. Cheese-stuffed kibbeh and the sambousik filled with creamy spinach set Shababeek apart from most Lebanese kitchens in the area, and the mains reward ordering beyond the obvious: grilled hammour, rosemary chicken, lamb ouzi under pastry, and a generous mixed grill that is the right choice for sharing. Bread arrives hot and unlimited, and the signature rose-and-mint Shababeek lemonade is worth ordering even if you are not a lemonade drinker.
Portions are large and the kitchen is confident, which softens pricing that is higher than the other Al Qasba options - a single cold mezze plus bread can stretch to a light lunch for two. Service is warm and capable when a manager is on the floor, though pace and polish can vary shift to shift, so an unhurried lunch or early dinner is the most consistent way to experience the restaurant at its best. Vegetarians are unusually well looked after, with batata harra, the traditional fatteh, and dedicated vegetable dishes that read as proper menu items rather than afterthoughts.

You can get to Al Qasba on foot from Sharjah Aquarium (30 minutes) or from Expo Center Sharjah (20 minutes). You're in a very pleasant shopping mall disguised in an old arabic architecture. The lebanese restaurant is sitting right next to a book shop (rare!). I got for AED 94 one lentil soup, one makanek and one baba ghanoush, with some olives and sliced cucumbers as appetizers. Quality was good but I wasn't impressed. On the other side I drank 2 delicious minted lemonades.
