Description
The Arabic Restaurant sits within The Chedi Al Bait, the heritage hotel assembled from restored nineteenth-century merchant houses in the old Heart of Sharjah. The setting is the restaurant's first great asset: a sequence of quiet interior courtyards and candlelit terraces enclosed by coral-stone walls, a world away from the traffic on Corniche Road that sits only a few minutes' walk beyond the gate. Evenings here are unhurried, lit by lanterns, and accompanied by the distant call of the adhan from the neighbouring Al Midfa mosque.
The kitchen moves confidently between modern Emirati cooking and a classical Moroccan repertoire, with a six-course Moroccan night that is worth timing a visit around. The standing menu opens with harira, a considered cold and hot mezze selection, and house-baked Moroccan, Turkish and Arabic breads served together in one basket. Mains lean on slow-cooked discipline: chicken and lamb tajines that fall cleanly off the bone, short-rib ouzi under delicate pastry, gambas harra with a measured chilli kick, and grilled hammour for lighter appetites. Mujaddara, here fashioned into a crisp fried cake, is a standout starter, and desserts - among them the signature chocolate plate known as Dark Emotion - are plated with the precision of a tasting menu.
Service is the quiet excellence that the Chedi is known for: attentive without hovering, generous with suggestions, and unusually good at pacing a multi-course meal. Pricing is fair for the setting - two can dine well for around 300 dirhams on the regular menu, less for lunch - which makes this one of the more approachable high-end Arabic tables in the emirate. It suits a romantic dinner, a considered business meal, or a visiting guest who wants to understand what contemporary Arabic hospitality at its best looks like.

While passing from way to Ajman I thought to have dinner at Al Bait Hotel so simply walked in to the Hotel and asked about dinner options and we choose The Arabic Restaurant. While we planed to order the dinner got a surprise called Mujaddar which is made by rice and lentil and deep friend in oil , it was mouth watering we like it too much and request for the one more.Makanek ( Hammous with olive oil and a basket of bread which has three types of bread inside Moroccan , Turkish and Arabic. The Tajen Chicken was very soft and melt in mouth in seconds specially like the presentation as shown in photo. We enjoyed our food and the ambience.Special thanks to Mr.Mehdi and Mr.Emad for their suggestions and courtesy. See you soon guys in my next trip to Sharjah meanwhile stay tuned.

Foodies should go to this hotel period. They have an incredible Chef who isn’t afraid to experiment offering a true gastronomy of flavors presented like beautiful art. Quality food craftsmanship is at work here and one can tell the hotel is looking to differentiate itself from its peers with the quality of its kitchens. We ate at ‘The Arabic Restaurant’ personally I don’t think the name does the restaurant justice, as this was truly an amazing dinner. Saffron, cardamom, turmeric, thyme and combination of local spices characterized the dining experience. Internationally trained chefs, under the watchful eye of the Master Chef prepared their lighter and fresher takes on traditional dishes making it a truly unique dining experience. Typically my kids only wanted pasta but the chef was happy to cook up a dish in a yummy sauce for them. We never even looked at a menu as everything was brought over to us to taste from wonderful pumpkin soup, aubergine dishes, meat platters and one of their signatures dishes which was so creatively designed and served and I believe tasted amazing (I don’t eat fish!) was a pan seared sea scallop on a bed of couscous with biryani and tzatziki sauce with edible cling film served in a sea urchin shell and sprayed with liquid nitrogen! Excellent service, great food and a beautiful hidden gem property. Review collected in partnership with this restaurant
