Sapore is the Italian restaurant at Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort, a relaxed poolside kitchen with both indoor seating and an outdoor terrace that catches the breeze off the Gulf. The menu runs the expected length of trattoria staples: focaccia arrives warm as a complimentary appetiser, pizzas come crisp-edged from the oven, and the carbonara, penne al ragu and mushroom risotto are reliable orders. Beef carpaccio is a standout starter, and the stuffed chicken followed by tiramisu is a classic pairing the kitchen handles well.
Value is a quiet strength. A set pizza-and-beer deal at 99 AED makes casual lunches easy on the bill, and vegan guests are well looked after with vegan dough and pasta. The dining room itself is simple rather than characterful, so most guests gravitate outside where the sea view and soft Italian soundtrack do the work of ambience. Fair warning for lunch: resident cats wander the terrace, which charms some guests and quietly irritates others.
Service is the reason regulars return. Long-serving front-of-house staff remember past visits, accommodate birthdays with cakes and quiet fuss, and make recommendations that feel considered rather than rehearsed. Booking outdoor tables is advisable on weekends, when the terrace fills quickly with resort guests and visiting day-trippers.

Excellent Italian. We had a wonderful evening at Sapore whilst staying at Le Meridien and would highly recommend. The fresh baked bread is delicious and the steak so tender. The ambience was great and the staff so friendly, especially Anjela. It was so good we went there 2 nights and look forward to returning soon
