SALiA - Seafood & Grill

SALiA is the seafood and grill restaurant at the Address Beach Resort Fujairah, a considered dining room whose outdoor terrace and clean-lined interior are built around the view of the Gulf and the coastline beyond. The menu is built for a proper dinner: an opening bread course, a broad seafood line led by local catch and Gulf oysters, a grill section that runs from seabass to the house seafood mixed grill, and a dessert programme that arrives with the same attention as the mains. The kitchen's sweet spot is its fish work. Grilled shrimp is a consistent favourite, the seafood mixed grill is the order guests come back for, and the avocado salad is a reliable starter. Oysters arrive fresh and the daily catch is worth asking about. The chef occasionally walks the room at the end of service to check on tables, which gives the room a more personal feel than most resort dining. Non-seafood eaters are well looked after with chicken and meat grills. Service is generally warm and genuinely attentive: Sushil, Akil and colleagues handle birthdays and anniversaries with small, thoughtful touches, including a cake if you give them some notice. The terrace is the seat to request - book it when reserving - though be aware that on very still evenings the outdoor seating can draw flies, a reality the team works hard to manage. Pricing reflects the setting and the ingredient quality rather than undercutting it, which is the correct trade for what arrives on the plate.
