While i have enjoyed the insight TripAdvisor has provided me over my years of travel, this will be my first written review on the platform. My unpleasant experience and utter dissatisfaction with Le Meridien Riyadh has prompted me to make an account and post a review to help others avoid such an experience. While the hotel itself is relatively new, the rooms modern and adequately furnished, the amenities acceptable, unfortunately the service was completely nonexistent. 1) Difficulty getting a hold of anyone through the phone; which prompts you to physically go to the lobby to ask reception for assistance 2) Reception attendees eagerly listen to your requests but those requests are not met. I had to request for clothes hangers to be sent up to my room 4 times over the span of 2 days3) Housekeeping forgets the basics. Waking up to get ready for a long day ahead only to find out that housekeeping forgot to place fresh towels in the bathroom is absolutely unacceptable. Especially after they had spilled a cup of coffee i had in the room and didn’t bother to clean or dry the carpet. 4) After the towel incident and speaking to the housekeeping manager, Abdullah, who assured me that everything was going to be top notch from that point forward. I got back to the hotel at 9pm to find the room was still not visited by housekeeping5) The club lounge is filthy in the early hours of the morning. But even if you ventured into the lounge, you will find that the coffee machine has not been refilled with milk and no clean cups are in sight. Makes you wonder why it is open for guests if no one is around to tend to them6) Don’t get me started on laundry.... clean shirt sent for pressing came back stained. Took a full 24 hours after that including 3 follow-ups for the shirt to finally arrive to my room and still the ironing outcome was below par. Such a shame, the hotel’s location and amenities are consistent with the Marriott brand. Unfortunately the staff and their service is a different story.
