Grand Plaza Gulf Hotel is a mid-priced central Riyadh property pitched primarily at business travellers, sitting roughly a minute's walk from GOSI metro station and within easy reach of the exhibition centre, offices, and a nearby mall with shops and a food court. The lobby and recently refreshed rooms lean modern and uncluttered, with sizeable beds, well-equipped bathrooms, and a calm interior atmosphere that contrasts pleasantly with the busy street outside.
The rooftop is the property's signature draw: a pool deck with views over the city and Aliwan, the in-house restaurant, where the international buffet, pastas and beef dishes anchor a menu that runs from breakfast through to a 24-hour room-service operation. Front-desk and restaurant teams work with visible warmth, with reception staff often recognising guests on arrival and a service standard at meals that lifts the whole experience above the room rate. The gym is dated but functional, and the location keeps the rest of central Riyadh accessible without a car.
The meaningful caveats centre on the building's age and immediate surroundings. Heavy roadworks and construction outside have been disrupting sleep at unpredictable hours, and window seals are not always equal to the task; sound carries between rooms, the Wi-Fi can underperform in the evenings, and finish quality varies between units. Light sleepers should request a high floor away from the street, and travellers expecting a polished international standard may find the cleanliness and amenity stocking inconsistent. For value-driven business stays where metro access and a rooftop pool matter more than premium polish, it remains a sensible pick.

Stayed here for an engagement party. Had an executive suite which was nicely decorated but not as clean as it should have been which really let the hotel down. Had rooms service and eat in the restaurant on the roof - good value for money but food quality not of a high standard. This is a good value hotel but standards, especially cleanliness, are not high enough to recommend.
