Set within the grounds of the Barracuda Beach Hotel, Thunder Road pairs an American diner backdrop with a kitchen that takes Italian cooking seriously. Wood-fired pizzas carry a pronounced Neapolitan character, hand-rolled pastas run from a classic spaghetti aglio e olio to carbonara and bolognese, and the slow-cooked ribs and burgers pull regulars back from across the emirates. Portions trend generous, and the burrata-topped focaccia earns its reputation as a starter worth sharing. The outdoor terrace is the main draw once the weather cools. Tables look over the Gulf, a live band plays most evenings, and there is a small playground to keep younger guests occupied. An Italian manager curates a short shelf of imported goods - olive oils, balsamics, cured meats and cheeses - that diners can browse and carry home. The venue is unusually pet-welcoming for the region, which lends the garden a relaxed, European feel. Prices skew closer to central Dubai than the drive to Umm Al Quwain suggests, and the air conditioning can struggle at the peak of summer, so the terrace is the better choice in cooler months. Book ahead on weekends, when the garden fills quickly and the hour from the city becomes part of the appeal.

Very nice place to dine. Options of eating inside or outside on the terrace. Great service. Many menu selections. Great service. Good food. Served quickly and tasty!!

We stayed over the Xmas and New Year in Dubai for 2 weeks. Hands down this place was the worst restaurant if you can call it that we ate in. We were staying in the area at the Vida Beach hotel 20 minutes away so we decided to cost as it was near and we saw it in the Google search. On entering no one even acknowledged us and there were 3 members of staff just standing there chatting as we waited. One just pointed his finger at a table so we sat there. Have you ever known anything like this is a restaurant? We sat and ordered food by a staff member and hi barely looked at us when the food arrived I could not eat it. Excessive oil and salt was in every dish so inedible. Even though we didn’t eat any when clearing the plates we were not asked why we didn’t not eat the food. To add insult to injury what happens next will put the nail im the coffin on this experience. On checking our bill we were charged for the drinks that the table next to us had had bearing in mind there were 8 people seated.when we poured this out the staff said he had to get the manager to refund the money. The manager was there but it took 15 minutes for this to be done. Why…. your guess is as good as mine and we had ti keep asking why it was taking so long and they kept saying in a minute. When the refund was finally done what do you think we were given? A discount, a free drink ……. No, not even an apology! I would nit give this place one star and ti make matters worse for a dowdy American type restaurant with bad food and even worse staff we were charged £80 for 2 people making this place more expensive than some of the opulent more central restaurants in Dubai which were 5 stars! In all my years of going to restaurants around the work this place must be in my top 2 of the worse one I have been to and the price for the horrendous experience just magnified the entire evening. If there is no where else to eat my advice is to not eat. Avoid at all cost. I just wish someone would have warned me so I am warning you!

The whole experience was amazing and the service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Definitely would recommend to go for everyone it fits families, couples and even friends going for a little drink.
