There are not a lot of restaurants in Umm Al Quwain, but the Arab Sea presents a friendly front with covered cafe streetside seating, nice architecture and clean modern interior. Most of the inside seating is in private booths, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The menu is incredible, with a variety of traditional "Arabic" (or Lebanese) and Indian food, with the ingredients mainly fresh fish, prawns, and lobster. We are English speaking and had no problems communicating with the main waiter. We had an assortment of chicken grill, a chicken Indian dish in gravy (methi) and two fish grills. Their house grill at 55 AED is the most expensive (non-lobster) dish and would likely feed two. We also had a jarjeer salad that was fresh and delicious and an assortment of breads and juices. The prices were very reasonable too, even cheap. salads at 6 AED, juices around 8, chicken dishes between 18-20 and fish mainly topping at 35. Maybe this is just how it is in Um Al Quwain, but it is far less than Abu Dhabi or even our own town of Al Ain at the local places. I see there are lot of hotel-type restaurants to choose from, but if you want to go to a restaurant with an Emirati family at the next booth, I recommend the Arab Sea.
