Sadaf Restaurant is the Ras Al Khaimah branch of one of the UAE's oldest Iranian restaurant groups, operating since 1985 with its original Dubai roots intact. The dining room is traditionally styled - warm wood, Persian-inspired fabrics, considered lighting - and the emphasis is unapologetically on the food rather than on trend-driven design. The kitchen works the classical Persian repertoire at a high standard. Chelo kabab with Zereshk polo (barberry rice) and lamb tikka both come up as signatures, ladyfinger gravy with Baghali polo is a standout for guests wanting a vegetable-forward alternative, and the complimentary accompaniments - a house Iranian soup, salad and yoghurt - give every main the traditional table presentation. Aash Reshteh as a starter is the regulars' pick. A Lebanese-inspired section widens the menu for mixed tables, and portion sizes are genuinely generous, so regulars advise ordering conservatively.
