The Anchor

The Anchor is DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island's nautical-themed sports pub - dark timber, brass fittings, pool and darts in the back, and a cluster of big screens tuned to live sport. It's the most unapologetically late-night venue on the property, routinely the last room to close, and also the only one where guests can sit properly after sunset in the cooler months. The programme is classic pub-plus: draught beers, a broad range of spirits, well-executed cocktails and a short menu of bar food - burgers, nachos, wings and pub classics. The burger is the most-ordered dish and opinions split on its consistency; some evenings it's the best on the island, others it falls flat. The drinks side is the more dependable draw, supported by a rotating cast of live acoustic singers and duos who keep the room moving into the late hours. The Anchor's anchor is its team. A tight group of long-serving bartenders and floor staff is named repeatedly in return feedback, and regulars describe nightly fixtures where the team knows their drinks order before they sit down. For a lively evening out on Marjan Island without leaving the resort, this is the obvious choice.
