During a recent stay at Doubletree by Hilton Fujairah, I had the pleasure of having both dinner and breakfast at Bistro 1550. The restaurant is large and nicely designed and generally serves high quality buffet meals. It is lincensed and serves wines and beers at good prices, which is nice to accompany your dinner. While I was there they had a great value 20% off promotion on all their wines. Dinner was an international buffet with a lovely range of salads, arabic mezze and cheeses. Not only were the dishes nicely presented but the taste and quality were high. Main course options included a selection of freshly baked pizza, a delicious grilled fish in lemon butter sauce, a beef stew, several other hot options and tasty Indian curries. It would have been nice to have a live station, perhaps a grill station with a choice of fresh meats and seafood to be grilled to order. There was a range of tempting deserts. Addition of perhaps ice cream would be a nice touch. Breakfast was an expensive buffet, with a great range of hot and cold dishes. I especially liked the home made yogurts and range of juices (including a carrot and ginger detox juice). Freshly made manakish was a nice Arabic touch The ladies on reception were kind and welcoming. Special thanks to the lovely lady from Myanmar who looked after me.
