After having to book a massage very last minute - my usual place being full and more fond of individual spas then hotel spas - I booked a spa treatment at O2 Spa as there were a number of branches located all over the city. Let me first point out this branch was not easy to locate and can easily be missed as I learnt the hard way due to its awkward location right in front of the Financial centre metro station that obscures pretty much the entire building. Parking was less of an issue with designated parking for spa visitors at the front of the building. I had been experiencing great difficulty sleeping and had been subject to immense amount of lower and upper back tension so had gone to relieve this. Upon entry I was greeted warmly and offered a cup of lemon tea and the spa menu - where I chose a Balinese massage - my usual treatment. The massage was decent and the masseuse focused on my key areas, but here were my following observations after having been fortunate enough to visit a number spas around the world; 1) The whole environment wasn't too tranquil or calming with stark lighting in some parts. 2) There appeared to be no proper changing room facilities like other spas, the ladies room requiring some serious renovation 3) The treatment as a whole like described in the title was a no frills experience. My therapist did not ask me if I was comfortable with the environment, room temperature etc. If you are looking for a basic massage this is the place to go as I left neither relaxed or rejuvenated, only with the reception staff badgering me to buy a massage package.
