Hamman Treatment Simply fantastic and carried out by an extremely good therapist who explained everything well and tailored the treatment to my body and what I was comfortable with. Booking - Upon booking the treatment I checked if we were able to come early to use the facilities prior to the treatment, to which I was advised yes and the spa opened at 8 am. Arrival - Badly signed posted from the hotel entrance. We arrived at 8.30 am to use the facilities (as advised we could do) but no-one was on spa reception, we were greeted by the fitness club receptionist who did not have access to the Spa bookings and took some time to check we had a booking (she seemed confused) we panicked thinking the booking was not there! eventually the spa receptionist greeted us and confirmed our booking. We were shown to the lockers in the fitness changing room (not general spa) and showed the spa pool which is far away from the Le Royal Spa where the treatment was to take place. It became clear after some questioning that the treatment and facilities we were allowed to use were in two different places (other side of the large hotel grounds) and the Royal spa was not open until 10 am. The general Spa pool Was noisy with gardeners chain saw cutting bushes directly behind our sun loungers, no towels provided even though requested (we had to go find them). The pool was full with lane swimmers and children's swimming lessons, also cleaning of the area was being carried out. The was not a relaxing start to my special birthday treat for my friend and me!. I discovered upon asking that we were unable to use the pool in the Royal club as this was for guests only, however I complained as were not advised at the time of booking and the distance between the treatment and facilities was not acceptable, as this would mean getting dressed again post treatment = 3 moves! Le Royal Spa After a long walk in our robes through the grounds and through a public hotel lobby we were taken to the Royal spa by the helpful spa reception lady. Inside it is nicely done (but small) and the welcome was more professional than our first greeting. Everything was explained well. We were offered hot and cold drinks which we were served quickly. Le Royal pool Facilities Pool is the roof top but nicely done and quiet with an attentive pool attendant. Huge Sauna can fit 15 people in yet only 2 changing rooms/ showers Chill out area x 2 small but nice. Showers/Changing room (2 no) The top showers were not working, only found this out when I was undressed in the shower. After having to leave the spa area to go find someone, they informed me they did not know how to work the showers and left me to go find someone who did (the showers were 3 in 1) I was later advised that all the showers are not working and instead I was shown into a public (twin power rain shower) to use with no mat or toiletries being provided, the shower was cool and too powerful to get washed in effectively. Missing touches Shampoo! Seats in the vanity area, mats outside showers marble was slippery and plastic bags for wet bathing clothes and the presence of a spa attendant who was sat in the hairdressers section most of the time. This was booked as a birthday treat for my friends birthday so it was disappointing to experience such a poor start, however the treatment was enjoyed by both of us and saved the day!. Overall Treatment I would return for but not for the service and facilities limitations.
