The spa is nice but not all therapists are qualified enough. I had 3 treatments: one therapist was very good, one is average, one is bad ( her name was Hendi (or something like that) I do not recommend her). I had an Around the world massage with her. My hair got stuck several times in her watch and in the zip on her uniform..I asked her to be careful with this but my hair got stuck again. There was no clear sequence in her technique..she did some technique on one arm, but did not do it on the other arm. I expected a much better treatment in a supposedly luxurious spa.

I had a massage booked for me and my fiance and I had to cancel my fiance's 5 hours before the appointment.My confirmation letter included a 2-hour notice period was required for cancellation or changing the time. I cancelled it 5 hours prior to the treatment, but I was charged for the cancelled treatment regardless, saying that for this the 24hour notice period applies (which applies for rituals and packages, the massage I booked was none of these) because I am not a hotel guest. Not to mention that the massage I actually had was horribe, the therapist was not strong enough despite I asked 3 times to increase the pressure and her left hand was much weaker than her right....I told it at the end at the reception, they did not say anything like "I am so sorry to hear" they just give me a complaint form, without actually listening to the problems, as if I was complaining just to avoid paying for the treatment. They did not empathised at all, they were very cold and distant. My day had been much more relaxing without the "relaxing massage experience"....

My husband and I benefited from a special offer at Assawan Spa (Burj-Al-Arab) that included a well-being (Swedish) massage and high tea, plus use of the spa facilities. We had a wonderful time, treasuring every minute of the experience! We benefited from the use of the facilities (including sauna, pool and Jacuzzi) both before and after the treatment and had a lovely afternoon tea to finish. Both massage and afternoon tea were excellent, and the atmosphere, surroundings and service are fantastic. We felt very welcome and had the chance to spend as much time at the spa as we wanted...we were there for four hours, and if it wasn't that we had other engagements afterwards, we would have stayed even longer! This was a very memorable afternoon, and a wonderful treat for my husband and I to celebrate 20 years together. Highly recommended!
