Description
The Tap House occupies a front-row position along the Souk Al Bahar waterfront, an approachable gastropub built around a strong craft-beer programme and a fountain-facing terrace that rivals any in the surrounding district. The dining room inside reads relaxed and contemporary; the terrace is the natural draw, timed by the fountain shows that run on the half-hour after dusk. On cooler evenings, the deck is the hardest seat to come by in the neighbourhood.
The kitchen works the gastropub register with genuine care. Burgers, and the rib burger in particular, are the core of the menu, the truffle fries have a quiet reputation of their own, and a spice-forward chicken tikka masala bridges the room's pub and contemporary sections. Pasta, lasagna, and a selection of shared small plates round out the table, with kitchen timing usually brisk enough to keep courses aligned with the fountain sequencing. A considered craft-beer list on tap covers both local microbrewery and imported drafts, and the cocktail side of the programme is well-built rather than an afterthought.
Service is attentive and practised. The floor team paces check-ins with the fountain schedule, handles birthdays with complimentary cake when given notice at booking, and is alert to family dining on earlier seatings. Terrace seating during fountain-show times carries a minimum spend; it is worth confirming the threshold at reservation rather than arrival, and particularly worth noting for groups planning a three-course evening.
Pricing reflects the location - a Downtown premium rather than a neighbourhood gastropub tariff - but the combination of a capable kitchen, a strong beer programme, and one of the best Burj Khalifa-fountain sightlines in the city justifies the position. Reservations for the terrace are essential, particularly through the cooler months and on weekend evenings.

We went to this restaurant last night and can honestly say the views were second to none, however the food was hugely overpriced. For 6 people we paid 2000 Durham, which is $800 Australian. This was for 4 entrees, 6 mains, 5 beers, and 5 soft drinks. If the bill came to half of that, I would be happy. However $800 was way too expensive. Ok for once in a lifetime, but I wouldn’t be able to afford to visit regularly.

Great chilled spot next to Dubai Mall, Happy Hour wine, calamari and chips, absorbing it all in. Fame looking after us! Thank you

Absolutely enjoyed our visit to Tap house. I had the black pepper beef and my friend the Thai green chicken curry. Divine. Rahul really went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful evening. We will be back for sure!
