Anjana Spa sits inside Rixos The Palm and leans hard into its Turkish heritage, with the domed hammam as its unmistakable centrepiece. The traditional ritual, usually followed or preceded by a back or full-body massage, is what the spa does best: a thorough black-soap lather, loofah exfoliation and rinse that leaves skin polished and noticeably softer, finished with Turkish tea, dried fruit and Turkish delight in the relaxation room. The golden body wrap expands the ritual with gold-infused oils and a twenty-minute cocooned wrap for a more indulgent half-day.
The space is quietly theatrical, all tilework, muted light and Ottoman-inspired detail, and couples are accommodated with the uncommonly flexible option of two female therapists if preferred. Beyond the hammam, the menu runs to Balinese aromatherapy, deep-tissue work and facials, with several therapists (Kemal among them for the hammam) repeatedly called out for technique and genuine warmth. A holistic corner offers chakra and energy sessions for those drawn to that side of wellness.
Experiences are less uniform once you step off the signature path. Wet-area facilities are compact and split by gender, and the relaxation room, steam and jacuzzi have drawn pointed criticism when lukewarm or crowded, so visit quality can hinge on time of day. Add-ons such as couples rooms and weekend surcharges can push the bill up quickly, and front-of-house service has had inconsistent moments. Booked thoughtfully around the hammam and a strong therapist, it remains one of the more atmospheric traditional spa experiences on the Palm.

When I first arrived the service at check in was a shambles. The lady serving me pretended that the system was not working, however I later found that it was working fine, it was just the fact she had not been trained sufficiently to work it! Furthermore only one restaurant was open in the Hotel when it advertised four. This was very inconvenient as I had to get a taxi away from the hotel, which when getting off a 8 hour flight, was not ideal. The room was very comfortable and views across the water were sensational. The pool area was enjoyable with the pool bar. However my only complaint would be that the service was very slow and could certainly be improved.

I visited the spa with my partner expecting an hour couple massage followed by a private jacuzzi. The hour massage lasted 45 minutes and the hot tub was only Luke warm so was not warm enough for us to sit in. The hot tub also had brown grim floating in it. I was hoping for an improvement in the spa facilities but again jacuzzi was too cold an
