The Dubai EDITION brings Ian Schrager's signature aesthetic - pared-back, architectural, quietly theatrical - to a prime address in Downtown, a short walk from Dubai Mall and with direct sightlines to the Burj Khalifa. The lobby is the property's calling card: double-height, softly lit, full of textured stone and warm timber, with a lounge feel that extends into Duomo, the ground-floor restaurant, and Thea Skylounge on the rooftop. It is a grown-up, design-led alternative to the big-brand towers along Sheikh Zayed Road.
Rooms are sleek and generously sized by Downtown standards, with crisp white linens, linen-and-walnut palettes, deep marble bathrooms and excellent lighting. Suites in particular feel residential rather than hotel-stock. The Burj Khalifa view category is the one to book for a first visit - lower and mid-floor city-view rooms are still excellent rooms, but the premium for that tower view only pays off when you can actually see it.
Food and drink carry real weight. Duomo delivers a well-executed Italian menu at both breakfast and dinner, and Thea Skylounge turns into one of the more atmospheric evening spots in Downtown, with strong cocktails and a skyline view. The rooftop pool is compact but stylish, and the location puts Dubai Opera, the fountains and the mall all within a short walk.
Service is genuinely the hotel's strongest suit: housekeeping, concierge and bell teams are singled out again and again for warmth and attentiveness, and the hotel handles late-night arrivals and extended stopovers gracefully. Worth noting - Downtown noise does carry to lower-floor, street-facing rooms, and Marriott Bonvoy elite guests should confirm benefit delivery at check-in rather than assume it. For couples, design-conscious travellers and anyone wanting to be in the middle of Downtown without the theme-park energy of the bigger hotels, EDITION is a confident, refined choice.

We stayed at The Dubai EDITION for the last three nights of our trip. It’s a classic downtown hotel—sleek, modern, and well-located, especially if you want to be close to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. The lobby is beautiful and makes a strong first impression, and the location is excellent for exploring downtown. It is loud though, like all downtown hotels. The room was nice and the beds and pillows were vey comfortable. The housekeeping team was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, which we truly appreciated. One tip: we had a high floor but not a Burj view. We didn’t feel it was worth the extra money. Overall, a solid choice for a downtown stay.
