The interiors feel settled rather than new, and a refresh in places would not go amiss, but housekeeping is meticulous and the bed-down experience is restful. Dining runs through UBK, the international all-day restaurant that also handles the generous breakfast buffet, alongside Rohini for Indian cooking and a relaxed lobby cafe. Breakfast is the clear highlight, with wide variety across Middle Eastern, South Asian, and Western stations and chefs at the egg counter who cheerfully accommodate children and special requests. Half-board guests can swap dinner for lunch with a day's notice, which pairs well with the complimentary shuttle to the hotel's sister Riva Beach Club on The Palm - typically a four-hour window on warm, clear water with loungers and umbrellas laid on.
