Urban Male Lounge is a men's grooming and day-spa concept with branches in DIFC, Dubai Marina and Town Centre, offering haircuts, beard work, facials, massage, manicures, pedicures and waxing in a male-only environment. The fit-out leans premium - leather seats, individual TV screens, Bluetooth headsets in the chairs - and the setting is a genuine draw for clients who prefer a men-only space for pedicures and spa treatments that are harder to source elsewhere.
When the right practitioner is assigned, the work is strong. Kitout and Gouzel at the DIFC branch are the stand-outs for therapeutic massage, including work on serious back and disc issues; Gina is the regular pick for pedicures and waxing; Adel and Omar lead the barbering bench for well-judged cuts and beard sculpting; and reception, with Mostafa, Bernard and Kristina at various branches, is helpful when the management layer is engaged.
The honest caveat is that pricing, consistency and upselling are the chain's persistent pain points. Quoted rates have repeatedly been exceeded at the till when add-on products, creams or arm-wax extensions are applied without confirmation, seasonal vouchers and blackout dates have been enforced more strictly than expected, and service quality varies sharply between technicians, particularly for barbering and children's cuts. Booking a named therapist or barber, confirming the full price of every service - including any product, cream or cosmetic add-on - before it is applied, and declining on-the-spot retail pushes are the practical steps for a predictable visit. Treated that way, the DIFC branch in particular can deliver genuinely skilled massage and grooming; left unmanaged, the bill can run far above expectations.

I use urban male lounge DIFC for haircuts and other spa treatments. Staff are excellent at what they do and very friendly. For nearly one year, I and many customers have expressed our frustration over the lack of wifi and functional TV (at least news channel). Today I decided to write this review in hopes that the management or owners take corrective action.

I've visited the Urban Male Lounge at the DIFC a few times for their facials. Priced at over $120 one would expect a service that matched other top-end spas. I've experienced inconsistent service from the therapists each time I have visited but overall their products and the actual treatment is good. However, the service from the receptionist yesterday was deplorable. I was not greeted with a smile or any kind words. The male receptionist, was not in any uniform, but had on an untucked shirt, with buttons open almost till his waist! With 15 mins still left into my treatment there was a loud knocking and an exchange of a conversation between my therapist and someone outside. My therapist then asked me if I planned to pay my bill in cash or by card. 5 mins later my treatment was interrupted again to ask if I could pay my bill as they wanted to close the till. This seemed physically impossible to do considering my wallet was placed on a shelf, I didn't have my shirt on and I couldn't open my eyes as I was mid way though a facial. When I did finish my treatment and arrived at the reception to settle my bill, instead of the usual polite enquiry regarding feedback on the treatment, I was met with a sigh when I handed over a AED 1000 note as I didn't have a smaller bill by the same receptionist. Overall, it was not what a top spa that charges top dollar prices experience should be. I also do not approve of the unnaturally strong push to buy their products. I can understand being asked once or twice but 5-6 times was a bit of an irritation. I will probably try another branch or a competitor next time around.

Service is just OK. The DIFC branch can be noisy and other customers usually wander past your booth/cubicle if you're having a foot treatment. Once I was met with some passive aggressive feelings from reception for trying to pay with AMEX. However, I'm happy to pay a premium as I feel more comfortable with getting treatments in an environment designed for male only. But it would be nice if the service matched the prices. Customer WIFI would be a solid start.
