Sultana Spa in Al Barsha is a traditional Moroccan hammam rather than a modern hotel spa, and the distinction matters. This is where the city's Moroccan diaspora and an increasingly broad local clientele come for a proper Friday-style ritual bath: black soap wash, deep kessa-mitt scrub, rhassoul clay masks, a rinse, and a rest with mint tea and pastries. The royal hammam package layers in a massage at the end, and a small salon on the same floor handles nails, facials using Moroccan natural products, and short add-on treatments.
The scrub is the reason to come. Therapists Nezha, Tureya, Amina, Suraiya, Ekram, Kalijah, and Fatima are all cited repeatedly for thorough, unhurried kessa work that actually leaves the skin feeling transformed rather than simply buffed. Nezha in particular has a strong following, and most regulars book her specifically. Prices are significantly below hotel-spa rates, with a basic Moroccan bath around 120 AED plus a small charge for a kessa mitt on the first visit, scaling up through royal and extended packages.
Two things to understand before booking. This is a communal-style hammam: the main treatment space is shared, privacy screens are minimal, and guests who want a fully enclosed treatment room should ask for a private option at booking (and expect limited availability). The facility itself is utilitarian rather than luxurious, and reports of inconsistent hot water or steam-room maintenance come up occasionally. Customer service on front-of-house recovery has also been uneven, and package or gel-manicure aftercare has disappointed some guests. Booked with eyes open for what it is - a traditional, ingredient-forward Moroccan bath at a fair price - this is one of the more authentic hammam experiences in Dubai.

LOCATION: Sultana Spa is close to Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. PRICE: Moroccon bath 120AED + around 60AED first time for the scrubbing mitten FEELING: Very down-to-earth in the not so good-looking environment. But when you enter inside, it feels like time went back 100 years. The washing ladies Fatima and Fatuma scrub your skin so that all the old dead skin is gone! You feel so relaxed after the scrub. It is not for the ones wanting petting-massage only, as this is the real place for the Arabic people to have their Friday "sauna" and clean-up Ladies only.
