We intended to Dine at Luce also at the Danat hotel, however we were early so my husband convinced me to visit the Oasis Cafe for shisha while we waited. The atmosphere was so serene and the service so good we cancelled Luce and spent a lovely Christmas night here. The lights were sparkling, there was a nice breeze and although it was a little chilly they provided blankets and heaters. I am not a smoker but as it is outdoors and spaced nicely I enjoyed my time immensely even though there were people smoking all around. The food was very good (hotel/Lebanese fair). I must say what made our experience was the manager, I think his name is Abdou?? He knows what 5 star service is. I saw him giving this service to every guest, while other staff members stood around looking bored or seemingly just waiting for him to ask them to do something, no initiative at all. But this is rather the standard of service in the UAE and not unique to Oasis I have found. They do just enough.. So it always lovely to meet someone who clearly loves their job and providing the very best service. Although I doubt someone of his caliber will last long here, so go visit while he is still around - before the bigger hotels in Dubai or Abu Dhabi snatch him away.
