Heritage Village Restaurant & Cafe sits inside the Al Qattara Oasis, a short drive past the Al Qattara Arts Centre and its historic fort, and works as Al Ain's most atmospheric late-night Arabic restaurant. The room is a genuinely cavernous hall, high-ceilinged and lined with old photographs of Al Ain, private shisha booths, projection screens showing live football, and valet parking at the door. It is one of the few venues in the city that stays open 24 hours, which makes it the default option for a post-midnight meal or shisha session when the rest of the city has closed.
The menu runs a generous Arabic and Lebanese range: mezze, mixed grills, shawarma plates, grilled fish and shrimp, and a thoughtful list of fresh juices. The fattoush, moutabel and hummus are the reliable mezze orders; the mixed grill arrives in a shareable portion and the grilled hamour and fresh fish pulled from the display are the standout mains. Home-made bread and the lemon-mint juice are both worth adding to the order. Prices sit at a fair value point for the portions and the Oasis setting, and during Ramadan the iftar buffet is one of Al Ain's more spacious and affordable options for large families. Cash-only payment is worth noting.
The most important caveat, which repeat guests name consistently, is the smoke. Shisha and cigarettes are permitted throughout the hall and there is no designated non-smoking area, so at busy hours the atmosphere becomes thick despite the high ceiling. Families with young children and non-smokers should either come early in the day or choose another venue. Service runs from attentive to inattentive depending on the shift and how busy the room is. Thursday and Friday evenings feature live Arabic singers, which local regulars consider the room at its liveliest.

We dined at the Heritage Village restaurant in Al Qattara, near the Arts Center. You drive into the oasis (which is amazing in the day, and beautiful at night) and the center with the restaurant is in the center. a la carte menu and there is a good choice of Arabic cuisine as well as the western staples of steak and burgers. The food is of very good quality. After enjoying our lunch we had time for a shisha.. live local music is over the weekend Value Service Food Atmosphere Review collected in partnership with this restaurant

The only good thing about this cafe is that it is open 24/7 .. so you have somewhere to go after 2:00 am when everything in Al Ain is closed. Service is way below standard. Staff has an attitude and unwilling to help or be friendly. Orders will take forever to arrive. Shisha isn't good, it tastes dusty. Food is mediocre.

I took friends from out of town here for lunch midweek. It was fairly quiet but nevertheless there were still a lot of people smoking shisha. The ceiling is high so the smoke does have somewhere to go but I wouldn't want to eat there when it's busy. The food was ok; the juices are delicious but it might be an idea to specify how much sugar you would like added to them. Good mezze and a reasonable mixed grill. The service was either unobtrusive or inattentive depending on your viewpoint - we were there principally to chat. The location is interesting in the oasis and next to a fort, but unfortunately the fort was closed. We did go for a short walk in the oasis but to be honest i think the town centre oasis and Jimi oasis are more attractive for that sort of thing.
