Description
Biryani Pot is a compact, modern Indian restaurant tucked into a corner of Hili Mall, and as the name suggests, its reason to exist is the biryani. The kitchen serves dum-style biryanis in sealed clay pots capped with a dome of baked bread, cracked open at the table - a small ritual that gives the meal its signature theatre and keeps the rice fragrant right through the last spoonful.
The chicken biryani is the benchmark order, with a newer butter-chicken biryani offering a softer, slightly sweet alternative for less adventurous palates. Vegetarians are well served, with a generous cauliflower-and-broccoli version alongside the usual curries. Beyond the biryani, a short list of North Indian staples rounds things out: butter chicken is reliably rich, the mixed grill is the best of the kebabs, and the black truffle naan is an unexpected, genuinely worthwhile indulgence. Aloo and tamarind chaat make a lively start.
The room is clean and simply styled, with attentive, informative service that does a good job explaining dishes to newcomers. Spice levels lean authentic rather than tempered, so diners who prefer milder cooking should flag it when ordering. Pricing sits above the city's cafeteria-style Indian options, and a handful of guests find portions on the smaller side for the price, particularly on the curry dishes - sharing a couple of mains between two is a sensible strategy.
Delivery and takeaway are dependable, with proper packaging for the short run back to nearby hotels, making Biryani Pot a useful stop for travellers on the Dubai-Al Ain route or locals after a properly dressed biryani without driving into the bigger emirates.

Excellent food and great service. We had Butter chicken and mix grill. Both meals we well prepared with good flavour. Small place tucked into outside corner of mall; but if you are in the Al Ain area, it is among the best Indian food we have experience.
