Al Mallah is a long-standing local chain of Lebanese eateries with three branches across Al Ain, and it earns its popularity the old-fashioned way: excellent shawarma, fresh mezze, brisk service and prices that feel from another decade. The restaurant runs on two levels - a chaotic takeaway counter at street level where a steady procession of cars pulls up, horns once or twice for kerbside service, and a quieter first-floor dining room with a small fountain, tiled walls and simple tables suited to unhurried family meals.
The menu is tightly focused on what the kitchen does well. The chicken and Arabic shawarma sandwiches are widely regarded as among the best in the city, the falafel is consistently crisp, and the hummus (particularly with pine nuts or meat) and moutabel show why this chain has held its regulars for decades. The mixed grill is the reliable main, the grilled half-chicken a quieter favourite, and the Khaleeji-style rice with grilled fish or beef biryani are both worth trying. Every table receives a generous complimentary plate of fresh vegetables, pickles and warm Arabic bread on arrival. Save room for a fresh fruit cocktail - a blended glass with real fruit chunks, cashews and cream - which regulars argue beats most desserts. Shawarma is served from 5pm onwards only.
Service is functional rather than attentive: polite when engaged, quick on takeaways, but not prone to fawning. The interior is dated and the decor has not evolved in years, which some guests find charming and others wish would change. Portions are generous enough that most orders produce leftovers, and two people can eat a full meal with mezze, main and juice for well under 100 AED. Come for the shawarma and the mezze, not for ambiance or polish.

We have tried many restaurants in the UAE and for anyone that has eaten at the Lebanese Flower in Abu Dhabi, this is a very similar experience. The food quality is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Fresh arabic bread with hummus and fresh veggies for a starter, followed by a grilled meat platter and then tea. Good food. They have multiple locations, but the only one I have eaten at is near the Rotana on Khalifa St. Value Service Food Atmosphere Review collected in partnership with this restaurant
