Golden Fork is a long-running pan-Asian restaurant in central Al Ain that has carved out a loyal local following for its seafood and a sprawling menu that reaches from Indian and Chinese classics through Filipino plates and Thai-influenced curries. It is not a design-led dining room - the setting is functional rather than refined - but the kitchen has identifiable strengths for diners who know what to order.
The seafood programme is the clearest reason to visit. A live cooking station lets diners choose fresh fish, prawns and shellfish for grilling or frying, with a mixed seafood platter and a well-regarded seafood soup the signature orders, and a fresh salad bar the useful accompaniment. Away from the seafood counter, the kitchen is competent on Indian and Chinese staples - roti and gravy, fried rice and noodles land comfortably - though the menu's breadth works against it: the more ambitious pan-Asian dishes and the advertised seafood combo platter can read under-portioned for the price, and fish outside the live counter is occasionally overcooked. The best strategy is to order from the grill and the soups and treat the rest as accompaniment.
Pricing is genuinely affordable by Al Ain standards, which keeps regulars returning, and the takeaway desserts are a worthwhile add-on. Service is warm and relaxed when the room is quiet; during peak weekend dinners, tables are set close enough that moving around can feel tight, and service polish slips. A handful of diners have flagged humidity in the dining area.
For a casual midweek seafood dinner or a large-group meal where everyone wants something different, Golden Fork earns its place among Al Ain's value-driven dinners, best approached with realistic expectations about the surroundings and a focus on what the kitchen does well.

The name is a bit misleading. This is a case of a trying to offer too many styles of food and not doing any of them extremely well. An okay eatery for a fair price but they will not be receiving any more patronage from me. Review collected in partnership with this restaurant

Awful! Couldn't even eat the fish. Somehow they can even ruin fish. Really bad range if dishes. Even our young kids wouldn't eat the stuff..

the price was reasonable. Almost too much food to choose from. Service is good and relaxed. The Chinese food we shared was good, lots of rice. Good seafood selection Review collected in partnership with this restaurant
