IndianChineseHalalVegetarianShisha
Description
Panoor sits at the busy Lucky Roundabout in Ajman's New Sanaya industrial area, a no-frills Kerala restaurant that draws a constant stream of South Indian expats, Omani visitors, and curious residents looking for Malabar cooking at working prices. The dining room is split into a general section and a separate family area, the latter noticeably cooler and more comfortable than the main hall, which can feel warm and crowded during peak lunch and dinner hours.
The menu is broad, spanning Kerala standards, North Indian tandoor, Indo-Chinese, and a handful of Arabic dishes, but the reason to come is the South Indian side of the kitchen. Bamboo biryani, pothi biryani wrapped in banana leaves, puttu and kappa biryani, Malabar fish curry meals served on plantain leaves with Matta rice, beef chatti curry, and Kozhi Nirachathu are the distinctive orders. Breakfast is a quiet highlight, generous in portion and notably cheap, and the in-house snacks display of savoury and sweet North Kerala items near the entrance is worth a glance on the way in.
The restaurant's reputation rests on that Kerala speciality cooking rather than on its wider menu, where the Indo-Chinese and Continental sections are generally weaker. Consistency is the main caveat: on a busy service the kitchen can misfire, specials like the lamb leg are not always up to the price, and portions and attentiveness vary. Service is efficient when the room is calm and visibly stretched when it fills, and waits for drinks or sides are not unusual. Parking around the roundabout is tight, so many regulars walk from nearby blocks or order takeaway.
Come for an authentic, unpretentious Malabar meal at a fair price, order from the Kerala section, and Panoor holds its own among the better community restaurants in Ajman. Those expecting polished service or a refined room should set expectations accordingly.

More or less the food served here is from the North Malabar but it is good and in fact neatly served. We found out this place just recently. Located among the hustle & bustle of the Industrial area in Ajman ,this place in fact packed with lots of people especially during the peak hours. The restaurant is very well maintained ( well that means you can of course take your family along to dine here). We've tried their Kerala Lunch & Chicken Biriyani- and well for AED 8 & AED 13 (takeaway charges)- the food was really yummy!!. the Area panoor restaurant choose for there shop is the famous lucky round about in the heart of ajman, the industrial area of new sanaya, when you enter panoor you can see the north Kerala specialties savory and sweet snacks in line, there is always crowd and specially high during noon ( lunch) and evening, car parking in front of restaurant is a a problem, but since lot of katcha parking area is present we can park little far anyway, we went to try the fresh chicken ,pothi biriyani, which is biriyani packed in banana leaves,we also tried out the typical Malabar fish curry meals, overall a good experience for a single person and to dine out with family, one thing i need to point out is that i ordered for lime juice, i donoo because of the rush hour nearly it took 30min to get one,and it was lime soda, but since the food is good would say the ajmanites to give a try

The temperature inside was not comforting. They reserved all the good seats for "Families". We had to settle in for a table that was very close to the washroom as it was the only one with direct airflow from the air conditioner. We ordered for Kerala Porotta, Pathiri, Kozhi Nirachathu, Beef Chatti Curry, Tea and Orange Juice. The waiter was very unprofessional. Lack of knowledge, proper communication and pleasantness were very obvious. We were starving and ignored all the discomfort. The food arrived. Nothing except Chicken was tasty. Porotta and tea were of average taste. Food was of poor quality. We ate some of it and requested for the bill. The bill didn't match their cafeteria standard service or poor quality or bad ambiance. Poor value. As Ajman doesn't offer great choices of eateries, we may be forced to buy food from then again. But definitely take away. Not stepping in to that place again.
