Description
Qdeemk Ndeemk sits across the road from the Fairmont on Ajman Corniche and functions as a kind of love letter to the UAE of the 1970s. A pristine vintage Mercedes holds centre stage, surrounded by old radios, rotary telephones and period ephemera that set a gently nostalgic tone without tipping into theme-park territory. The room is small and warmly lit, and the staff are quick to welcome walk-ins, which makes it an easy choice for travellers looking for a break from hotel dining rooms.
The cooking leans Emirati at heart, with Indian and Arabic dishes rounding out the menu. Breakfast is a particular strength: a set package lets diners choose between Emirati, Egyptian, Lebanese, Indian or English plates, and the Emirati spread, paired with karak and freshly fried pakoras, is the most characterful way to start the day. At lunch and dinner, machboos is reliably good, portions are generous, and a long list of fresh juices and non-alcoholic cocktails makes up for the absence of alcohol. The Arabic coffee is the real thing rather than the Turkish stand-in found elsewhere, and traditional sweets arrive fresh. Service closes the meal with oud and perfumes, a small touch that speaks to the kitchen's intent.
A few honest caveats. The menu is relatively compact, so diners hunting variety may find the choice narrower than the atmosphere suggests, and the room is tight for larger groups. Prices are higher than the cafe framing implies, though still comfortably below hotel restaurants across the street. Food arrives cooked to order, so patience is rewarded. Approached as a character-rich stop for traditional breakfast, coffee and a slow afternoon, Qdeemk Ndeemk delivers something genuinely distinctive on the Corniche.

This little restaurant was opposite our hotel (Fairmont). It is quite unique with a vintage car theme. There's an immaculate old Mercedes in the middle of the restaurant. The food is a mix of Indian and Arabic. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food did take a little while to come, but it was freshly cooked to order. No alcohol of course, but the non alcoholic cocktails are great. Much cheaper than eating in the hotels, but not such a great choice on the menu.

We are staying across the road in the Fairmont. A couple of days ago we were attracted in by the cool decor and friendly staff. Both adults and kids enjoyed a great lunch. In fact, we may go back tonight for dinner.
