The Entrecôte Cafe de Paris is located in Yas Mall. It took me 15 minutes to walk here from my hotel near Warner Brothers on Yas Island. I was looking for somewhere to have an evening meal. I looked at the food mall but it was mainly take away type places. I saw the Cafe de Paris, quickly viewed TripAdvisor and decided to eat there. The first thing I noticed is that there is just one option for main course and no starters. Various types of entrecôte beef cooked in a ‘special’ sauce with a green salad and French fries. I opted for the New Zealand version which was the cheapest at 185 dirham. The green salad was actually a pile of lettuce akin to what you might give your pet rabbit. The fries were decent enough and you could have as much as you liked. Fortunately that wasn’t the case for the lettuce. The meat is pre cooked but kept warm in front of you in some kind of burner. The meat was pleasant enough but the so called special sauce appeared to be like Bearnaise with garlic. Dessert was Tiramisu which was nice as was my drink of raspberry iced tea. The service was good and the restaurant was comfortable with a nice atmosphere. The bill for me was 239 dirham. Basically around £50 for what amounted to steak and chips. Whilst I realise that the UAE is an expensive place in which to eat and drink, the next night I went to Stars N Bars in Yas Marina and for a little more, had an infinitely superior experience.
