Description
CÉ LA VI Dubai is the UAE outpost of the Singapore-born sky restaurant-and-lounge brand, perched on the 54th floor of Address Sky View in Downtown with a panoramic wrap-around terrace that sits directly across from the Burj Khalifa. The sightline across to the world's tallest tower, the Dubai Fountain, and the downtown skyline is the defining asset, and the layout - a seated dining room, a long lounge bar, an open-air terrace - spreads across the floor so that most tables carry at least a partial view.
The kitchen runs a pan-Asian menu with Japanese and Southeast Asian leanings. The lobster taco and Korean fried chicken are the two most repeated starters and both arrive properly built, and the beef bao, tempura prawns, and satay chicken skewers cover the wider shareable register. From the mains, the red snapper and wagyu beef are the confident picks, and the pan-Asian plates round out the table without overreach. Close with the small-plates dessert platter - a clean, restrained finish that works well after a generously ordered savoury section - and pair from a long cocktail and champagne list built for the format.
Service runs attentive, polished, and visibly practised at managing the volume that a rooftop of this profile absorbs across weekend and high-season evenings. Occasion dinners are handled with composure, allergies are taken seriously, and the photography side of the terrace is accommodated without making the room feel performative. Worth flagging: music rises notably through the later evening as the lounge takes over from the dining service, and terrace noise from adjoining spaces can occasionally carry; earlier seatings catch a cleaner dining experience.
CÉ LA VI is priced in the upper tier of Downtown dining with a clear premium on the terrace view, and a reservation on the outdoor ring is worth making well ahead. For a benchmark rooftop dinner with the Burj Khalifa as centrepiece and an Asian menu that carries real effort, it remains one of the more cinematic bookings in the city.

I have a feeling I'm not the target audience of this restaurant. If you want to go to a restaurant and not pay any attention to the people you are with, spend the entire time preening yourself and taking insta pictures then this is the place for you. Around us there were six tables, at any one point half were taking photos of themselves. I think I was the only person actually looking at the view. This is a great place to go if you like to see the city, the view of the Burj is great. The food is just ok, and at the prices you pay there are so many better places. The sushi is really mediocre, if you want sushi and a view just Google where you really ought to go. Overpriced, awash with people looking at themselves and mediocre food. I'd give it a swerve.
